Vulnerability Management
VVM performs automatic binary SBOM scanning for public and private vulnerabilities to comply with regulations and assure product security.
My Role: UX Lead for a newly built product, responsible for end-to-end design, creating a new design system.
Vehicle Vulnerability Management
PROBLEM
To reduce cyber risk exposure and to comply with new regulations and standards, OEMs and Tier 1 manufacturers need to ensure that their assets do not contain software vulnerabilities.
SOLUTION
VVM platform continually monitors vehicle assets for vulnerabilities, identifies highest points of risk, and provides mitigation plan.
Using the platform allows OEMs and Suppliers to respond quickly to threats and vulnerabilities and follow regulation standards.
TEAM
Product Manager, Developers (Remote from Poland) and Myself.
Process
MVP STAGE
To kick off the project, we spent a day iterating about business goals, researched competitors, understanding the goals, needs etc.
Due to the tight deadline (2 weeks including dev), after the first iteration with the team I used 5W’s fast process (what, who, where, when, why, how), created user stories, hand sketches wireframes and after few more iterations created the design based on the former design system.
VVM Evolution
After successfully gaining our first big client (Continental), we could finally receive feedback from active users. and as the features and data grew, It brought up few problems and frictions:
Due to data and feature scaling the platform became overloaded, so the user can feel overwhelmed or lost.
and a lot of the time couldn’t find main actions - so they felt frustrated
The old workflow was fragmented - in order to investigate an asset, the user needed to work with loaded right pane, full of links that redirects to new tabs
Together with the fact that users usually manage multiple screens and applications - he could loose context of workflow.
Then decided to initiate the project of improving
main user flows
"How can we support data scale and improve user experience on main work flows to help the user to better navigate his steps and actions, while keeping consistency across platform"
Design Process
-
Collecting updated user information from the product and sales departments.
-
Created role and task analysis to understand more deeply the main user actions, workflows and priorities
-
Researched competitors and other investigation tools, to see how they handle data load and which navigation they chose
-
Created few examples for a new navigation flow
-
Created updated information architecture
-
Wireframes
-
UI Design - according to a new Design System I've created for cross platform use.
